“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only son…” It is the expressed love of a Creator for His creation so profound that we, as human beings, cannot comprehend its depths. Yet the heart from which this love flows can be felt and its fruit seen in “that He gave”, for it is through this type of “selfless giving” that God’s love and divine nature is manifested in and through our lives.
It is a special kind of love that always considers the needs of others before its own, that seeks only to be a blessing instead of being blessed and truly knows the joy of living Jesus’ words; “it is more blessed to give than receive.”
That same heart of love was demonstrated in a wonderful way through the teams that came and shared this Christmas season as dozens of volunteers, of all ages, from Texas and Ohio labored throughout the year gathering gift items and sharing with others their desire to bless the children of Nicaragua. In addition to the gifts, they also prepared activities, a Christmas story and a puppet show to teach the children about Jesus.
The message of God’s love was received with grateful hearts as over 1,200 children in 14 villages, most of which would not have received anything this year, were blessed with a special Christmas gift and the message of God’s love and compassion for them.
Christmas at Land of Judah was a special time again this year as the teams sang songs with our staff and children, decorated the Christmas tree with their art projects and presented the Christmas story. It was so beautiful to see the joy on everyone’s faces as they received their gift boxes and to feel that special love of God that bonds hearts together forever.
We are truly grateful to those who came and all of those who gave so many wonderful gifts. Thank you for your heart to bless the children of Nicaragua and for making it a very special Christmas for so many.
