Mission Teams
In Mark 16:15, Jesus commanded His followers: “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature”. Jesus went on to say in Luke 10:2, “The harvest is truly great, but the laborers are few; pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He would sent forth laborers into His harvest”.
Every day at Messiah Project we proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ and seek to share the Love of God in many different ways. We greatly appreciate and welcome the help of those who would come along side and serve with us in the mission fields of Nicaragua.
Working with short term mission teams is another growing outreach of Messiah Project, Nicaragua. Visiting teams participate in outreaches from our various areas of ministry on both the Pacific and Caribbean sides of the country. Teams working on the Pacific side are based at our dorm facility located at the Land of Judah orphanage. Some of the team activities include evangelism, VBS activities, dramas, puppets, work projects and medical/dental clinics. These activities are held at the orphanage facility as well as in numerous towns and villages located throughout the Carazo region.
For the more seasoned teams, our outreach to the Miskito Indians on the Northeastern Caribbean side proves a more challenging experience. Located on the banks of the Rio Coco river, our facility’s main ministry building is equipped with dorms and serves as the base for outreaches in the area. We travel by ministry vehicle to nearby villages or by motorized dugout canoes to reach the more remote villages.
Conditions in this region can be, at times, less than comfortable and there are certain inherent risks which must be considered. However, we have found that the overwhelming need for the Gospel far outweighs the difficulties involved in reaching this indigenous people group with the Love of God.
Our short term mission team program package includes all transportation needed to move your team once they arrive in Nicaragua. Dorm style sleeping arrangements and in house meals are also included. More information about Messiah Project’s Short Term Mission Team Program can be found here.
